Development of UV printing make possible to direct print on Boards. Traditionally, you need to laminate the roll-media to board to finishing the product, but thanks to UV printing technology, you can print it directly. So it is more clean and better quality. and with the white color, there is high-value works you can produce. Layers printing, Color board printing are the good examples.

4. Other media

There is also water-based ink for Demand on printing service. this type of ink has advantage on eco-friendly. but also has weakness on the outdoor strength. Ink is cheap, so the price can be cheaper, and you can express the good resolution. it may good choice for indoor application but you need to do lamination on every job.

How to improve the printing resolution?

UV flatbed printers are becoming more and more popular in the market. However, some customers feedback that after using a long time, the small letter or picture will be blurred, not only affect the printing effect, but also influence their own business! So, what should we do to improve the printing resolution?

Here we should know the reasons as below:

1. The image itself with lower pixel.

2. The encoder strip and the encoder sensor are dirty.

3. The X-axis guide rail does not slide smoothly and the friction is large.

4. The drive parameters of x-axis and y-axis are wrong.

5. Output accuracy of the uv printer is not high.

6. The distance is little higher from printhead to material surface.


1. Choose high-precision image to print. To be frank, UV printing is the process of input and output. Input is the process of inputting data from the computer to the printer. If the accuracy of the input image itself is not high resolution, no matter how high-end the uv printer is, it cannot change disadvantages of the input image itself.

2. Use a non-woven cloth with alcohol to wipe encoder strip until it is completely cleaned. If necessary, clean the encoder sensor together.

3. Use inks from original supplier of your printer. Although there are many inks on the market and their prices are cheap, their fusion degree and purity are poor. After printing, ink dots are uneven and blocky. Therefore, it had better use high-quality ink from the original manufacturer of your printer. If the printed font is still blurred, you can check whether the print head is clogged. If the nozzle is clogged, do not disassemble it by yourself. Please contact the manufacturer to get some suggestions.

4. Print head alignment. Check the wire of the ink supply tube to avoid collision between the ink tube and the mechanical part of the printer. And make sure the head align perfect (ajust from horizonal,vertical,uni-direction,bi-direction,etc)

5. The output accuracy of the UV flatbed printer, that is, the printing accuracy, a direct expression of the quality of the mainboard, ink supply system and the printhead. Maybe you need to change a new head.

The differences between Epson locked printheads and original printheads.

As we all know, Epson printheads have excellent performance in terms of printing accuracy and output speed. However, as Epson’s printheads, compared with original printheads, locked printheads have a possible intellectual property risk, in addition, they don’t have equal Epson’s technical support, lifespan, production efficiency and quality assurance. Let’s specifically summarize the differences between Epson’s original printheads and locked printheads.

Firstly, Epson original printheads have a longer life, which is mainly reflected in three aspects.

1. For the print head itself, locked printheads are designed for home-use printers, while the original printheads are for industrial printers, and the manufacturing process of internal construction is constantly updated;

2. Control board. The design of electrical control signals for locked heads are only be based on the experience of designer. Because there is no Epson support, the compatibility cannot be guaranteed, on the other hand, it needs decryption card. The original heads’ control boards are designed based on Epson printhead specifications, and do not require a decryption card;

3. Ink. The design of locked head ink is “crossing the river by feeling the stones”, and the compatibility cannot be guaranteed. For the original head, Epson designs proprietary UV inks and eco-solvent inks, and cooperates with ink manufacturers to carry out matching experiments to greatly increase the life span of the printheads.

Secondly, Epson’s original print head has higher production efficiency, which is also reflected in three aspects.

1. Printing speed. Locked printheads on the market generally reach about 17KHz, and original printheads can achieve 21.6KHz, which can improve production efficiency by 25%;

2. Printing stability. Locked heads use locked waveform of Epson home-use printer, and the setting of drive voltage is based on experience only. The original heads have formal waveform, and printing is more stable. At the same time, it can also provide matched driving voltage to minimize the color difference, finally get a better printing quality.

3. Ink correspondence. The matching and debugging of locked head ink and waveform rely on experience, which is not only wasting time and poorly matched. For original printheads, Epson will send the basic waveform to the control board partner and provide technical support together with them, in this way greatly improve production efficiency.
